Good News! Science Says Chocolate is Good For You!
We all know that chocolate has been proven to boost a person’s mood. (I’ve been proving that for years! Just ask my husband!)
But did you know that chocolate has also been proven to lower blood pressure and cholesterol?
Now a Dutch study has discovered that a compound in cocoa beans called flavonol could possibly reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke!
They think that flavonol makes blood platelets less sticky and less likely to form clots.
The experts do caution that not all chocolate delivers the same benefit. The darker the chocolate, the highest levels of flavonol-rich cocoa and the greater its effect on blood platelets.
Hey, it sounds good to me! I’m ready to take a walk on the dark side (of chocolate) for the sake of my health! Who would have thought that something medicinal could taste so good!
